Narrative Description of Project:

Main objective of Kupang and Bitung Port Development Project is to provide additional port facilities and equipment at the ports, contributing to improvement of insufficient port infrastructure as well as economic development of the region. Project components include :

Bitung Port Development :

1)       Specialized container wharf (-10 m deep, 130 m long);

2)       Local wharf (60 m long);

3)       Revetments (928 m long in total):

4)       Container yard (46,868 m2) with CFS, maintenance shop and other buildings and utilities;

5)       Navigation channel and basin dredging (291,832 m3);

6)       Navigation aids (transit lights and sector light);

7)       Reclamation (144,162 m3);

8)       Port access road and bridge (820 m long);

9)       Waste treatment plant (3,590 m2);

10)    Reach stacker (35 tons, 1 unit) and other container handling equipment; and

11)    Tugboat (1500 HP, 1 unit), mooring boat (160 HP, 1 unit) and pilot boat (400 HP, 1 unit).

Kupang Port Development :

1)       Multipurpose wharf (-7.5 m deep, 237.5 m long);

2)       Retaining wall (266 m long);

3)       Container yard (20,243 m2) with transit shed and other buildings and utilities;

4)       Open storage yard (7,889 m2);

5)       Navigation channel and basin dredging (22,221 m3);

6)       Reclamation (279,258 m3);

7)       River bank slope protection (224 m long);

Description of Actual Services Provided by Your Staff:

The consulting services provided by our staff cover the following :

Scope of services for development of the project ports includes 1) review of the latest master plan and feasibility study for the both ports, 2) natural conditions surveys, 3) environmental study in respect of air and water preservation and aquatic fauna and flora at and around the project sites, 4) traffic demand forecast, 5) alternative and detailed designs, 6) prequalification and bidding documents and cost estimates, 7) assistance in prequalification, bidding and contract procedures, 8) supervision of construction works and equipment procurement, 9) technology transfer, and 10) final inspection of project facilities before expiry of maintenance period.
